Wukong Wu Xing Tao

Awakened to Emptiness Five Element Way

Wukong Wu Xing Tao is the name I have given to my philosophy of martial doctrine. It is a personal integration of the arts and wisdom traditions I have studied, including those stemming from the cultural traditions of China, Japan, India, and Indonesia. This integral cohesion constitutes the underlying philosophy of practice at Temple of the Monkey.

Within Wukong (Awakened to Emptiness) are the external paths of practice, namely the forms and fighting strategies of the martial arts that I teach.

The Wu Xing (Five Elements) enfolds the internal arts of Taoist Yoga, Chi Kung, and Meditation. Which I teach in conjunction with the martial practice.

Tao is the way.

Wukong Wu Xing Tao is both traditional and contemporary, allowing it to be an evolving open system that integrates the virtues of the ancient art with current modalities of intelligence and practice.

By guiding and cultivating the individual, each practitioner students, classmates and the teacher can see the essential nature of each practitioner, and thus all know their relationship to each other and to the holarchy of the martial arts spectrum.
